This past Sunday, October 3rd, Jaguar students, families, and faculty members participated in the Slidell Life Chain. As our call to love our neighbor, PJP stood in the 1500 block of Gause Boulevard peacefully praying for an end to abortion. We joined in praying a Rosary and a Divine Mercy Chaplet, petitioning for an increase in the protection of the valuable lives of unborn babies. PJP gathered over 50 members of the community to defend every human’s right to life and encourage and empower pregnant women to reject the lies of the devil by choosing life over death. Brenna Becker, a strong advocate for the pro-life generation, said that she attended the Life Chain in hopes to “save someone’s life from an abortion”, adding that “abortion is a crime disguised as a solution.” Deacon William Mumphrey, a participant with Our Lady of Lourdes, said he attended “to support all the young people that are standing up for the truth.” PJP extends its support, encouragement, and prayers to pregnant women who may feel as though abortion is their only option. May God send His peace and grant them the grace to protect the dignity and lives of their unborn babies.
“The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being, but especially the weakest and most defenseless. If you want equal justice for all and true freedom and lasting peace, then… defend life.” -Pope John Paul II
