The PJP Swim Team traveled to Sulphur, LA on Wednesday and Thursday, November 17 and 18 to compete in the State Swim Meet. Jaguar swimmers shined in Wednesday's preliminaries - qualifying for all relays and multiple individual event finals on Thursday.
PJP boys were defending their 2020 State Title. Senior, Jackson Marble guaranteed a repeat at the Homecoming Pep Rally, and they did not disappoint. Led by six seniors, and with some excellent heats from other team members, they repeated as STATE CHAMPS!!
Our girls swam with an overall young team of six. With only one senior and one junior, the three freshmen and one 8th grader swam most of the events. Their efforts earned them a sixth-place finish with freshman Mady Hill being named as the Most Outstanding Swimmer of the meet for Division IV. The future looks bright for our girl swimmers!
Overall, PJP swimmers finished in a combined second place. We thank Coach Rick Kelly for all of his hard work, and we thank our families and friends who traveled to Sulphur to support us. PJP fans were many in number and easily spotted in their bright yellow JP Swim shirts!
Congratulations to our STATE CHAMPS, Mady Hill, and all of our Jaguar swimmers! You represented PJP well and we are proud of you.
