On Friday, September 24th, the Jags faced strong opposition from Episcopal - Baton Rouge. Though the team went down in defeat 41-14, 'helmets off' to George Arata & Robbie Worchel, who scored the two touchdowns that evening for the Jags. Prior to kickoff........
The weather was ideal and the course was fast and ready for another cross country competition. Our jaguars and lady jags didn't disappoint - not only in competition, but in true sportsmanship. Read on......
PJP's Retreat Team, led by Campus Minister, Ryan Cosse '10 gave our 8th graders a wonderful day of reflection, team-building and memories. The event included prayer time, large and small group activities, pizza, fun and games, too.
On Thursday evening, parents converged onto campus for the very first PTC meeting, which included a update by Mrs. Kilroy, and presentations by both Advancement Director, Mr. Sam Caruso and LA State Trooper (and PJP's class of '96) Melissa Matey.
Well played games by both our JV & Varsity Lady Jags, who traveled 'across the pond' to compete against Sacred Heart Academy. The JV team took home another victory. We are amazed at their level of competitiveness and give another huge shout out to our varsity team, who missed taking home a win; but played their hearts out, too.
Huge kudos to the Junior Class who BROUGHT THEIR 'A' GAME to yesterday's spirit competition. Raising the bar with spirit shakers, the decision was clear. Congrats to the Junior class and to our Student Council for planning another fun-filled event for the student body. By the way, fine job by the JAGUAR, too!!
PJP invites all current Jaguars to visit the tables at our gym during lunch to explore the many opportunities to participate in our clubs or learn how to become eligible. Come find ways to enhance your skills, uncover hidden talents, explore new interests, make new friends, and express your creativity.
Shout out to our 'younger' boys of Autumn who battled against the Newman Greenies yesterday. For many of our 8th and 9th graders, this was the first time on the field, in a high school setting. The team played very well as this a great, developmental football game that prepares them for future, varsity competition. Well done, all.
Much gratitude to Coach Lisa Merkle and our Cross Country team who quickly turned their Saturday around this past weekend (on Sept. 18th). Upon learning the Biloxi Invitational was cancelled, Merkle took action and registered the team for a Hammond meet, where they'll return tomorrow (Sept. 24) to race, again, at St. Thomas Aquinas. Good luck to them all.
Students welcomed video crewmen to campus today (Wednesday, Sept. 23) in preparation for commercial footage and new media relations to come out of PJP. It was a busy day for Jaguars, putting on their biggest smiles for the camera and showing off all of the fantastic pieces that make up a memorable and meaningful campus life. Great job, everybody!!
Shout out to our JV Lady Jags who gained another victory against Dominican yesterday, Sept. 21st. Kudos to our Varsity team, who competed hard as well against a top-ranked opponent. Photos show Chloe Smith #11 and Jamie Underwood, both accomplishing their spikes. Keep up the great work, ladies. PJP extends our pride for all of your hard work.
Congrats to our Lady Jags who were victorious in their away game this past Tuesday, Sept. 14th against a competitive Northlake Christian team; and won in 3 sets - again, without home field advantage - on Thursday, Sept. 16th against LAKESHORE. We are so proud of them all for their sportsmanship and competitiveness. The team takes on Dominican High tomorrow, at home. First service for our JV team begins at 4:30 pm. Varsity game to follow.
In a ‘battle of Jaguars on the gridiron’ PJP came out victorious over Thomas Jefferson High this past Saturday. Congratulations to Coach Pigott, his staff and the entire team on a fantastic performance!
Congrats to the Seniors who brought their spirit and acquired the spirit stick at (Sept. 17th) Friday afternoon's pep rally. Fun times were had by all. Thanks to our Student Council on planning the event. Hope to see everyone at the game tomorrow......11:00 am kickoff....Go Jags!!
