How Do We Support:

At Pope John Paul II Catholic High School, our counseling department is dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our counselors provide personalized guidance tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering their growth both in and out of the classroom.

1. Academic Counseling
   We work closely with students and the Dean of Academics to set academic goals, select courses, and develop effective study habits and time management skills. Our counselors are committed to ensuring students stay on track for graduation and are equipped to face academic challenges.
2. Emotional and Social Support
   Our counselors provide a safe and confidential environment where students can express their concerns. Whether it’s managing stress, dealing with peer pressure, or navigating personal issues, we offer support, coping strategies, and, when necessary, referrals to external mental health professionals.
3. College and Career Readiness
   Preparing students for life after high school is one of our top priorities. Our counselors guide students through the college application process, assist with financial aid and scholarships, and offer career exploration opportunities. From college entrance exams to vocational paths, we ensure students are prepared for their future endeavors.
4. Crisis Intervention
   In times of crisis, our counselors are here to provide immediate support, ensuring that students have the resources they need to manage grief, trauma, or personal crises. We work swiftly to connect students and families with appropriate services.
5. Collaboration and Communication
   We believe in a collaborative approach, working alongside teachers, parents, and administrators to provide comprehensive support for each student. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where every student feels valued and understood.
